“Property Brothers”, Renovations and “Learning” From Reality Shows

I often make fun of the renovations that are done on TV shows.  Most of the time there is nothing but fluff, drama and very little take-away knowledge when it comes to street level renovations.

That said – the Property Brothers, Jonathan and Drew Scott usually give some good solid advice.

If you have a few moments, here is an extended interview with both brothers in which they tackle a few good questions, and also give some good advice on not over-renovating.

“Understanding value and knowing how to do things right” is a great mantra on which to build your renovation business.

Alex Rodriguez: My 2018 ‘game plan’ for real estate investing

It all boils down to a simple formula: buy, fix, and sell, says superstar slugger Alex Rodriguez.

Former MLB all-star A-Rod breaks down a new $10 million investment from CNBC.

Alex Rodriguez has built a large portfolio of real estate investments.
He spoke recently at an investor conference on multifamily housing.
Here are his takeaways for investing in real estate in 2018.

“On the overall housing front, there’s some softening in the higher end of Class A (high-end) rentals, so again, don’t bet on quality alone but look for under served areas with high concentrations of middle-class workers. ”
